Heneghans Environmental Policy

For the last 25 years Heneghan’s objective has been to continue to build a reputation for excellence in the fields of Utilities, Civil Engineering and Housebuilding.

We believe that we owe much of our success to the fact that we are a family firm whose directors are directly involved in all aspects of the business and who are proud of the dedicated team who work for us. We recognise that we have a responsibility to help protect the environment wherever we have an opportunity to do so, be a responsible neighbour and to provide a comfortable environment for our employees to work in.

In order to achieve this objective, Heneghan’s will maintain an effective and efficient Environmental Management System based upon the requirements of ISO 14001:2015.

We recognise that our business activities interact with the environment in a variety of ways. These activities have a significant impact in the key areas of:

• The built environment through street works
• The use of fuels and other raw materials such as plastics and aggregate in street works
• Normal environmental impacts of running a business

As such, we are committed to:

• Continual improvement in the environmental impact of our business activities
• Improving the environmental benefits provided by our products & services
• Protecting the environment, including preventing pollution
• Complying with all relevant legal, customer, and other third-party requirements
• Adopting best practices applicable to its activities wherever practicable

We will achieve these commitments by:

• The implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System that is independently certified as compliant with ISO 14001:2015
• Employing processes that identify the aspects of the Company’s business that have an environmental impact and quantifying the significance of each aspect
• Maintaining an environmental performance improvement programme to enable the objectives to be achieved
• Ensuring that its employees, suppliers and customers are aware of their role in supporting the Company’s commitments and environmental objectives
• Training its employees in good environmental protection practices and encouraging employee involvement in environmental improvement initiatives
• Continually measuring, monitoring & reviewing the environmental performance of our business activities and setting objectives accordingly

The implementation of this Environmental Policy is fundamental to the success of the Company’s business and must be supported by all employees as an integral part of their daily work.
